I WAKE UP EVERY DAY NEXT TO A MAN WHOM I FIND INCREDIBLY SEXY.

He has the Magic Mike type of body that most women – and some men – can only dream of going to bed with. I guess you can say he’s a bit of a fitness fanatic, diligently going to the gym every day during his lunch break.

However, working out alone isn’t enough to get that kind of body or to have the kind of libido that means I can touch him with my pinky and he’s ready for a romp at any time of the day.

Studies show that what foods you put into your body play just an important role as exercise to keeping your sex drive going strong. In particular, keeping the cardiac and circulatory system healthy is essential for libido, especially if you think about arousal and stamina.

WHAT HAPPENS IN THE KITCHEN IMPACTS THE BEDROOM

These days it seems like most people have forgotten how to cook because eating out or ordering in is just too easy. For me, home cooking is actually the best way that you can stay healthy and connected to your partner.

My partner and I try to have home cooked food as much as we can, and I believe that plays a huge role in maintaining our health and sex drive. We are also able to enjoy many intimate moments cooking side by side and eating our meal over some great conversations.

So if you feel like something’s just a bit off or things aren’t working the way they used to, then let me share with you some easy ways to maintain or increase your sex drive through food and spices, based on our own routines.

GET YOUR GREENS WITH EASE

Every morning before heading off to work, my partner makes a nutritious, heart-healthy smoothie based on Rhonda Patrick’s Micronutrient Smoothie Recipe.

Our version is slightly different and we buy all the ingredients from Marks n Spencer because the quality of their produce is unbeatable. We also make smoothie packets once a week that we put into the freezer to save time in the mornings, so everything is ready to be blended.

We clean, cut, and store the following ingredients in re-usable silicon bags for an on-demand green smoothie every morning:

a large handful of organic spinach

a handful of kale

half a medium/large carrot

4 cherry tomatoes

half an apple

half a banana

half a handful of blueberries (optional)

3 cups of water (added later)

We also top off the smoothie with a teaspoon of Pranaon Fresh Mint Super Greens powder, which is not only packed full of antioxidants and nutrients, but also transforms the taste of the entire smoothie.

Frankly, I wouldn’t be able to drink the smoothies without the Pranaon powder because the mint and stevia in the powder really make the smoothie much more pleasant to drink.

A SALAD A DAY = ALWAYS READY TO PLAY

When we’re having dinner at home and it’s just the two of us, about 4-5 nights a week we will have a hearty homemade salad. Just like our smoothies, we make the salads as colorful and nutritious as possible.

I always think about the children’s story “Stone Soup” when I make the salads, adding in as many ingredients as I can from our fridge and cabinet.

Variety is great for keeping our guts and digestive systems functioning well. And this in turn creates those critical happy hormones that help us get better in bed, such as serotonin, which is linked to our overall mood and… yes, sex drive.

In addition, eating salads and vegetables are a great way to keep your body beautiful inside and out. So your partner can be turned on just by looking at you, and you’ll also keep your arteries clean as blood can flow smoothly.

BE LIKE POPEYE, EAT THAT SPINACH!

One of my favorite leafy greens to use for our salads is Spinach, which is packed with magnesium that helps bring blood to all parts of the body, a key ingredient to increasing sexual arousal. When blood is flowing well, women will find it is easier to have an orgasm, and men will find it easier to get erections.

We’re all so familiar with the bulge that surges into Popeye’s (and Olive’s) arm every time he chugs a can of spinach. Now I’m wondering if that innocent cartoon was hinting at a much more x-rated subliminal message…with a bulge below the waist!

SEXY FOODS FOR THAT TESTOSTERONE BOOST

With your homemade salads, there are also a few other great things you can add that can help boost testosterone production. Testosterone is one of the most important male sex hormones, so you’ll want to keep those levels high.

All of these foods can increase testosterone naturally:

Flaxseed, chopped celery, cucumber, kale, radish, garlic, pine nuts, eggs, broccoli and blueberries.

You should also make sure that you increase the amount of polyunsaturated and saturated fats in your diet.

Avocados and also olive oil are best for this but other healthy sources of fat you can also consume are: coconut oil, raw nuts (almonds, brazil nuts, pecans, pumpkin seeds), grass-fed lean meat and organic butter.

Eggs are also a great way to improve your sex drive but don’t over-do them. They have cholesterol in them which is important for creating sex hormones but as with anything, you can always have too much of a good thing.

SPICE UP YOUR SEX DRIVE, LITERALLY

You can literally “spice” up your love life with recipes that include certain spices. These add flavour to your food and help with blood circulation.

Cloves, fenugreek seeds, fennel seeds, anise seeds, black peppercorn, ginger, and cinnamon can be added in your cooking in various ways.

Each of these will help the blood flow more easily to those regions of your body that hopefully some lucky person will be stimulating….

One of my favorite recipes to make is Beef Tagine with Butternut Squash. In just one recipe, you can find a bunch of delicious spices like paprika, cinnamon, ginger, black pepper – all of which are great for stimulating the libido.

Make sure you buy good quality beef that doesn’t cause amazon fires! Australian beef from Pacific Gourmet is a good choice.

In conclusion, having a balanced diet, eating real and not processed foods (more dark and colourful vegetables), getting regular exercise, and have a full night’s sleep is the best recipe for boosting your libido and sex drive naturally.

You should also try and limit your intake of sugar, caffeine and white flour and try as much as possible to stay off the booze!
